How To Make A Throwing Rock

Rocks are very easy to make and are good for a basic throwing weapon.  Here you will find instructions on how to make a slightly weighted rock to chuck at your enemies.  I made these three rocks in less than 20 minutes.

Materials Needed:

Fun Noodle

BB's

Duct Tape

a ball-point pen

a Sharpie

Step One:

The first thing to do is to cut pieces of fun noodle that are 2 1/2" long (see image at the left).  These  are the basic element of your rocks.   Next, cut various chunks off of the rock base so they look like... well... rocks! (see the image at the right)

 Step Two:

Take your pen and shove it straight down into the rock.  Go almost all the way through, but make sure not to puncture the other side.  Then push the bottom of the sharpie into the same hole, but not all the way.   Measure out about 3/4 teaspoon of BB's and push them into the hole.  You may need to use the sharpie to push them in farther.

Step Three:

Take a scrap of Fun Noodle that you have cut off and push it into the BB hole.  This will keep the bb's from migrating to the surface throughout the life of the rock.  Then tape up the rock.  Use as little tape as possible because the more tape you use, the harder the rock will be.  One layer is plenty.

That's it!  Before using it, check to make sure that no bb's have come up to the surface.  If they have, the rock is now unsafe and can't be used.

Have a friend throw the rock at your back from about 10 feet away.  Do this several times for each rock to make sure that they are safe.  They are your rocks - you are resposible for their safety.

As always, if you have any questions e-mail us or ask a staff member at an event.
